Lesson 1 - Coating Types and Systems

Objective
The objective of this training unit is to understand the basic constituents and properties of coatings used for corrosion control and gain an insight into coating systems.
- Coatings are the most widely used method of protecting steel structures from corrosion.

Lesson 2 - Coating for CUI

Introduction
In this lesson, we will review coating systems that are applied to assets to provide corrosion protection.
Over the lifetime of an insulated asset, ingress of water is generally inevitable, especially on assets that are used in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries which are exposed to corrosive environments, mechanical damage, wear and tear, and general abuse.
Protective coatings and thermal spray coatings have been used for new build and maintenance of assets under insulation for many years.
Coatings under insulation can be subject to wet/dry conditions, and variable temperatures and therefore must be designed to perform in this very corrosive environment.

Lesson 3 - Introduction to Thermal Metal Spraying

Objective
The objective of this training unit is to give an introduction into thermal spray metal coatings used for corrosion protection.
